5 Year Plan
Demonstration with Partner Companies and Training for Industry Professionals
Stage 1
Cycle Design and System Concept
Basic design and thermodynamic analysis of the sCO₂ power cycle, with refinement of the overall system concept. Development of a database on waste heat resources in the Yeosu and Gwangyang industrial complexes to support site selection and strategic planning.
Stage 2
Core Technology and Component Development
Acquisition of key technologies including dynamic cycle analysis, heat exchanger design, and control algorithms. Manufacturing of major components and preparation of detailed designs and operating scenarios required for the demonstration facility.
Stage 3
Construction of Support Center
Establishment of the Support Center in the Yeosu Future Innovation District, completion of infrastructure for demonstration facilities, and initiation of technical consulting, pilot production support, and workforce training programs.
Stage 4
Demonstration & data collection
Commissioning of the 2 MW sCO₂ demonstration plant under real industrial conditions, with comprehensive operational data collected to assess stability, load flexibility, and waste heat utilization scenarios, providing critical insights for system optimization and future scale-up.
Stage 5
Optimization and system improvement
Analysis of demonstration data to derive performance optimization strategies, establishment of standardized evaluation criteria and operating procedures, and nationwide dissemination of results to accelerate decarbonization in industrial complexes.
